Since the age of 4, Christie Lee Williams has been studying many forms of dance including tap, jazz, ballet, Irish step, lyrical, contemporary, and hip hop. Shortly after, she began participating in musical theatre productions. At the age of 13, Christie aced a dance instructor certification course at the Hazleton Studio of Dance and has been teaching ever since, all the while continuing her studies in the world of performing arts. She has worked at venues all over Pennsylvania and New Jersey, such as the Pennsylvania Theatre of Performing Arts, the Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre, Showcase Theatre, Bucks County Playhouse, Bucks County Dinner Theatre, Backstage Production Ensemble, and the Open Air Theatre (presented by Downtown Performing Arts Center), starring in such shows as the Wizard of Oz (Dorothy), West Side Story (Maria), Bye Bye Birdie (Rosie), and Fiddler on the Roof (Hodel alongside Eddie Mekka as Tevye). Christie has been involved in theatrical productions not only as a performer, but as a director and choreographer as well. She has accepted many awards and trophies in competitions for her dancing and vocal skills and eventually graduated to a performance judge with Cavalcade of Stars and Talent Explosion, traveling to such places as Pennsylvania, North Carolina, New Mexico, and Texas. She is also a certified Zumba and Pilates instructor! Perhaps her proudest accomplishment, Christie starred in her own cabaret act featuring her band - Christie and the Hep Cats. The cabaret act featured Christie as a solo-performing triple threat - singing, dancing, and acting - and also included some comedy, ventriloquism, and character work! Christie is excited to join the Dance Expo/Dance Network staff and share her experience as a well-rounded performer and lover of the stage!
